The Hot One.In 2005, Peppur Chambers created "Harlem's Night: A Cabaret Story" while working an evening shift at Equinox Gym in West Hollywood. While she despondently swiped member cards, she brooded over the horribleness of the painful non-relationship relationship she was (not) having with Joe (not his real name). Feeling like crap, she took pen to paper as this was the only affordable therapy she could muster. Henceforth, a tale of a woman looking for love in all the wrong places was born.Having a love for all-things Vintage, which was inspired by her mother, Peppur placed her story in the 1940s when men, women, clothing and styling were sophisticated. She was also influenced by the sultry singing and dancing presented as dinner-theater entertainment in movies like "Swing Time", with Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers; and musicals like "Cabin in The Sky" with Lena Horne and Louis Armstrong. With these influences combined with her own singing, dancing and acting talents, she developed Harlem's Night. Knowing she needed a name and a brand for the sultry women in the cabaret that people would remember for years to come, Peppur created The Brown Betties. And so it began.Peppur got her start in entertainment by performing in school plays, studying ballet and taking piano lessons. However, it was an assignment in sixth grade where Peppur created and wrote an actual story book titled, "The Life of a Flower" that kickstarted her career in and love for writing.She has written numerous poems and song lyrics (many of which she keeps private); she's also written several plays and screenplays. Her first full-length play, "House Rules" about love and Billie Holiday was produced in 2009 under her production company, The S&P Experience. Peppur is working on the feature film, "Harlem's Awakening" which is the pre-story to how the Betties began and is based on her novel of the same name. She's co-developing a TV pilot based on her book, "The Brown Betties Guide: How To Look For Love In All The Wrong Places" which has been produced as an award-winning webseries with Black Pearl Filmworks. Additionally, she has written the seriously funny, "Making Lemonade: Bittersweet Tales of An Actress Being Squeezed in LA".Peppur has been published in Ava Chin's "SPLIT: Stories From A Generation Raised on Divorce" which can be purchased on Amazon.com.As a former World Champion Chicago Bulls Dancer, Milwaukee Buck's Dancer and Marquette University graduate, Peppur, "The Hot One", is a certifiable Cheese Head....and damn proud of it! www.peppurchambers.com

In Alphabetical Order:Marliss AmieaA classically trained actress, singer and dancer, Marliss began performing/training as a young girl and began intense studies at the acclaimed Duke Ellington School of the Arts. She has performed internationally in shows such as "Disney's The Lion King", "Aida", "Little Shop of Horrors" and "California Suite" to name a few. Her television credits include, "Curb your Enthusiasm" and "Chocolate News". She was most recently seen in Liftetimes, "The Wish List". Marliss has also appeared in numerous National Commercials and independent films. She's a former backup singer for Stevie Wonder, Anita Baker, Kenny Loggins and jazz legend Dave Brubeck. Currently she is a featured singer with Don Peake and the Allstars and she is the lead singer of the up and coming band "Amiea". Peppur ChambersA recent transplant to Los Angeles via New York and Chicago, Peppur has seen success as an actor, writer, dancer and singer. During her five years in New York, Peppur appeared on stage, film and television. As a writer, shes especially proud of the staged-readings of her piece I SEE and one-act play, Flapjacks & Orange Juice; and of Dreas Denial a short film which she wrote, acted in and co-produced. Peppur's non-fiction essay, Three-Way appears in Ava Chins SPLIT: Stories from a Generation Raised on Divorce. Shes also recently co-produced her first feature play, House Rules through her production company, The S&P Experience. House Rules was also accepted into the National Black Theater Festivals reading series. Shes also completed a fun guide derived from Harlems Night Cabaret (which she also wrote) titled, The Brown Betties Guide: How to Look for Love In All The Wrong Places as well as the forthcoming feature film based on the Harlem's Night Cabaret, titled, Harlems Awakening. While in Chicago, Ms. Chambers performed for thousands as a World Champion Chicago Bulls dancer and sites this experience as a turning point in making a bee-line ascent toward her dreams. This graduate of Marquette University and Kenosha, Wisconsin native is determined to further her career in her LA surroundings. Christy GambleChristy attended Ball State University, is a trained dancer and former competitive collegiate cheerleader. Christy danced professionally for the NFLs Atlanta Falcons before landing her first film role in the FOX box office hit "Drumline" as an A&T Dancer. After training at Atlantas Alliance Theater, Christy moved from Atlanta to Los Angeles to further pursue her acting career. She studied in Los Angeles under the tutelage of Ivana Chubbuck, the Beverly Hills Playhouse on-camera class, Bob Garrett musical theatre, The Groundlings and Amy Lyndons Master Class; to name a few. Christy's most recent work includes a comedy film, with Cedric the Entertainer making his directorial debut, entitled Chicago PulaskiJones. She also has a supporting role in the Sony feature film Stomp the Yard 2.Danielle LewisDanielle was born in New Orleans and has lived in the Los Angeles area since the age of ten. At 14, she began her dance training at Hollywood High School for the Performing Arts. She holds a bachelors degree in Communications Studies from UCLA. As a dancer, Danielle performed as a company member of the Lula Washington Dance Theatre, and Winifred Harris Between Lines. She has also performed on tour with the UniverSoul Circus, and with the legendary Paul McCartney on his Driving USA and Back in the World tours. Danielle turned to acting several years ago, studying with the likes of Aaron Speiser and the late Gene Frankel in New York. As an actress, Danielle recently made her stage debut in the play Changing Brandy. She has appeared on the NBC show American Dreams, in music videos for artists Heather Headley and Xzibit, and in many commercials including Wendys Mealtime Got Complicated. Catch her soon in the short film, Natural Beauty.

Marliss Amiea - Brown Bettie

Marliss is the newest Bettie and she "swings" with sophistication between whichever character she is playing. She currently personifies the giddiness of "Love". She has sparkled with the agility of "Want" and the haughty humor of "Ms Bettie" in Harlem's Night Cabaret. This Scorpio from D.C. is our "Song Bird" Bettie and has singing chops that will contend with any Idol. She also likes to preface exclamatory remarks with, "Honeeeey...!" Read her bio here.

Keena Ferguson - Brown Bettie
Keena is an original Brown Bettie and has been hatin' Joe since 2005. This Jefferson City, Missouri native brings her character to a level of intensity that has Joe running for cover in "Harlem's Night Cabaret" which tells the tale of a woman looking for love in all the wrong places. Christy became a Brown Bettie in 2006 when she artfully replaced Crescent Muhammad who originated the character "Love". Christy has danced for thousands as an Atlanta Falcon's dancer, so when it was time to strap on her stilettos for the cabaret, she didn't miss one sultry beat. Being a Scorpio certainly doesn't hurt!
