| Ricco Ross, a father, actor and activist was born in Chicago and has five brothers and five sisters, (guess his parents didn't have a TV). From age 7 to 13, he lived in what Oprah stated was the poorest town in the US: Pembrook, Illinois. Ricco went to High School and undergrad in Florida and received his MFA from UCLA. He worked in Hollywood for a year where he had reoccurring roles on Hill St. Blues & The Young and the Restless while he also played in other shows on the side. While confiding to a past UCLA professor of feeling type-cast as an angry young Black man, he was persuaded that auditioning for the London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art (LAMDA) to study Shakespeare for a year in England could give him other tools for his craft. That year turned into 13 living abroad, giving him an amazing experience for his career and more importantly in life. He worked as an English actor in London, while moon lighting as a model in France & Italy for four yrs. He also turned down a European Pro basket ball contract in Cyprus. He now has an impressive resume with credits such as Aliens, Mission Impossible, The Practice, JAG, E.R. and more. He has lived and worked all over the UK, Europe, Eastern Europe, Africa, & Asia. To date, his biggest accomplishments are his daughter Aisha and son Rami, and as an actor feels his best work is yet to come. www.riccoross.com |
